A recent client from Kunkletown who found Mobile Edge by way of our website came in to upgrade the radio, backup camera and running boards in his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. He was ready to move the technology on this truck into 2022. Our product specialists spent time on showing the client multiple options for each of his desired upgrades. He chose the Sony XAV-AX5500 media receiver for the radio; the Metra Electronics TE-GTGC tailgate handle backup camera; and the Dee Zee NXt running boards, which were the same model running boards he previously used.
Our team got to work on installing these upgrades, beginning with the radio. We removed the factory radio to make way for the new Sony radio, installing it with the correct, vehicle-specific wiring harness and dash kit. This radio adds Bluetooth, Apple Carplay and Android Auto to the vehicle.
Then, we ran the necessary wires to replace the existing tailgate handle with the new Metra tailgate handle, which included the backup camera. Now, the client can see where he’s backing up on the new radio, all from the comfort of his driver’s seat.
Once the radio and backup camera were installed, we removed the client’s old running boards and securely mounted his replacement running boards. We then called the client to return to our shop and pick up his vehicle, and he was pleased with our work!
