Mobile Edge in Lehighton is the area’s specialist in blind spot systems. Every year, more and more people realize that driver safety products can make them safer drivers and potentially save a life. We all have been in a situation where we thought the lane beside us was clear, only to find someone was in our blind spot. The result may be simply swerving back into our lane, but we all know it could have been much worse. The solution is to add blind spot products to your vehicle.
Our blind spot products are broken down into two distinctly different products.
Blind Spot Sensor Systems
The first type of system uses radar-based sensors that detect when someone has come into your blind spot on either side of your vehicle while you are driving. We hide a sensor behind your rear bumper on each side, strategically aligned for the best performance. Inside the vehicle, we place indicator lights on either side of the interior in easy view of the driver.
When someone enters your left-side blind spot, the left indicator illuminates as a warning for you. Should activate your left blinker, an audible warning kicks in as a second alert. If someone enters your blind spot on the right side, the same thing happens: First, the right indicator illuminates and then an audible alert goes off if you activate your right turn signal.
Blind Spot Camera Systems
The second type of system offered at Mobile Edge is a blind spot camera system. Our team installs a camera underneath each side-view mirror that is aimed at your blind spot. When you activate the left turn signal, the left camera goes live, and when you activate the right turn signal, the right camera goes live. Inside the vehicle, the image is displayed in one of four areas:
1. Integrated with Your Existing Color Screen
If you have a color screen in your dash, chances are we can integrate the cameras to display on that monitor using an interface.
2. Replacement Rearview Mirror
You may be able to replace your existing rearview mirror with a new one that has an integrated LCD monitor. Under normal conditions, the mirror looks just like factory, but whenever the cameras go live, the image is displayed right on the mirror in a convenient spot.
3. Replacement Touchscreen Stereo System
If you drive a vehicle with older technology, or maybe one with a lower trim level, upgrading the stereo system in your dash may be perfect for you. You can gain several features: GPS navigation, CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, a backup camera and USB ports. All these functions get controlled via a full-color touchscreen unit that we flush into your dash where the existing stereo currently sits.
4. Stand-alone Monitor
If the primary use of the vehicle is commercial in nature, a stand-alone monitor is perfect since it comes in larger screen sizes and rugged designs that work well in harsher environments.
