A new client from Kunkletown was excited to get a new radio installed in his 2018 Subaru Impreza WRX. His father was getting a Sony XAV-AX5000 installed in his Chevrolet Suburban, and he came with his dad to pick that up and look for some options for his own car.
After going over some options, we selected a Sony XAV-AX7000 for his WRX. This radio has Sony’s proprietary High Power output amplifier in it for great sound, and offers 5 volt pre-outs for future amplifier upgrades. We were able to adapt the Subaru’s factory steering wheel controls to control the radio perfectly, and added a backup camera for greater safety when parking. We also replaced his OEM power port with a dual USB port that allows his phone and a USB memory stick to connect directly to the radio for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and streaming music capabilities.
